The walkie talkie write cable is used to transfer the setup data from the walkie talkie software to the walkie talkie, including writing frequencies and fixing firmware upgrades using the write software. But do you know? There is also a difference between the frequency writing line and the frequency writing line with different chip usage, and the applicable models are also different.
At present, there are three kinds of commonly used frequency writing lines, which are applicable to three different chips:
FTDI Chip is a fabless semiconductor company working with the world's leading foundries. Headquartered in Glasgow, UK, with R&D facilities in Glasgow, Singapore and Taipei (Taiwan), FTDI is not generally used as a universal adaptor write line for conventional radios because of its higher cost.
Cables with the FTDI chipset (FT232R) will automatically download the correct drivers when plugged into a USB port.
The following name is displayed when the USB port is plugged into a computer USB port:
WCH Chip WinChipHead
WCH is a domestic chip brand. It uses CH340 chip and supports Widnows 7,8,10,11 computer system. At present, it is also the writing line for most of the walkie-talkies.
When the USB port is inserted into the computer USB port, the following name will be displayed:
Prolific Chipset
Prolific is produced by a Taiwanese technology company in China, and can be adapted to most of the walkie-talkies on the market. It uses the PL2303 chip. Starting this year, Prolific discontinued the previous writing cable and started to produce a writing cable that supports the Windows 11 system. Generally write frequency line plugged into the computer, if the computer does not open the firewall, the system will automatically install Prolific write frequency line driver, if not, you need to manually install the driver.
The Prolific chip write cable shows the following name in the device manager:
When the walkie-talkie has a write frequency error, data mistake, you need to determine if the write frequency line is used incorrectly.
